The library at St Anne’s has over 110,000 works making it the largest of all the colleges. It is open 24/7 – you don’t realise how useful this is until you’ve had an all night essay crisis. The new library and academic centre is due to be finished in Summer 2016 and will provide more space for working, both independently and in groups.
There are also several computers and a printer, photocopier and scanner operated by your bod card. There is also a collection of DVDs which can be borrowed from.
Our Junior Common Room is a great place to relax. There are plenty of sofas and beanbags as well as table tennis and pool, making it the perfect chill out space. General meeting are held here fortnightly – they are an excellent way in keeping up to date with what’s going on in college and make an impact on how college is run.
The laundry room is in Woodstock Road and is open 08:00-21:00 every day. There are 6 washers and 6 driers. Each wash or dry is £1.40 and is paid for on a laundry card which can be acquired from the lodge for a deposit. This can be topped up by cash in the laundry room or online.
St. Anne’s has 4 music practice rooms in the basement of 50 Woodstock Road. The code for these rooms may be obtained from the Lodge. Three of the rooms are open and have upright pianos. The other room, known as the “Annie Barnes Music Room,” is only available to those enrolled in a music degree or those who receive a music scholarship at the music competition (usually scheduled for the middle of Michaelmas term). The Annie Barnes Music Room comes equipped with a Yamaha grand piano.
The gym is situated in Trenaman and is open 08:00-23:00. You can sign up by attending a gym induction which can be arranged by contacting the sports rep. There’s a cardio room with bike machine and treadmill, and a weights room with all sorts of weights and other equipment. It’s cheap at just £15 for the year and convenient – time to get fit!
